Creating an Essay Plan
Creating an essay plan was possibly one of the hardest tasks to actually get right for me.
First, I sat down to make a plan. I ended up getting sucked into reading and making extensive notes.
I sat down to make a plan again. I ended up writing a long introduction that sounded like the beginning of an essay about the philosophy behind children's picture books.
I sat down to write an essay plan for the third time and it had no clear direction.
I sat down to write my essay plan a fourth time. I hammered out an introduction and I wrote a plan that finally sounded like the essay I wanted to produce to discuss the title:
Discuss the Ways in which the Illustrations within Children's Picture Books have been used as Ideological Tools.
It helped that my tutor shared a sample plan with me and kept reminding me to go back to it. She also got a bit stern with me and turned my head around to remind me of the task at hand.
Finally I feel like this plan is relevant to my practice and my essay isn't going to talk and discuss things in big circles.
